How can you save costs when working with metal?

For the forming and punching of sheet material, a classic emulsion bath is still often used. However, you can save a lot of time and money when processing aluminum, copper, zinc or steel sheets (galvanised or otherwise) by using a vapourising liquid for folding, deep drawing, cutting, forming, sawing or threading. Unil has now developed the FORM oil range especially for this purpose.

Safe evaporation
Thanks to their low viscosity, FORM evaporation oils can easily be applied directly to the parts to be processed by spraying, felting, rolling or drop lubrication. Due to the drying extract incorporated in the formulation, a film that is invisible to the naked eye remains after processing and provides lasting protection against corrosion. FORM Formulation Oils contain only chlorine-free and non-toxic solvents so that no danger or odour nuisance arises for the operator during evaporation.

Saving up to 40% in time and costs
When using vaporisable liquids, degreasing of the pieces is no longer necessary. Moreover, the purity remains guaranteed even after the treatment. There is no risk of dust from the workshop sticking to the stored pieces. This already results in an enormous time saving.

Furthermore, FORM oils do not suffer from the disadvantages that can occur when using water-based products. Due to the absence of water, there is no risk of corrosion of the parts or of contamination of the bath by the presence of micro-organisms. Because only the central supply of lubricants needs to be replenished, the complex follow-up of emulsion baths is also a thing of the past. In this way, savings of up to 40% in lubricant consumption can be achieved.
